Description of Work
To say that this rundown kitchen with outdated cabinetry and Formica tops needed
a complete face, tummy & tuck job would be the understatement of the year. The
room at 10’ x 8’ was very small, making style, function and location of each
item extremely important. In addition, the floor was rotted and sagging and the
walls, ceilings and electrical needed a complete redo. The kitchen was gutted
and the plumbing relocated. The floor joists were added and modified, then
covered with sub flooring, a vapor barrier and new Tigerwood flooring and
thresholds.
Next came the installation of a new ceiling, walls,
appliances and low voltage under cabinet wiring. Walls and ceiling were
refinished and then painted with a bold blood red color. Next a faux finish was
applied to different areas of the kitchen.
Cherry wood cabinetry with stylish stainless
pulls and new appliances in new locations for maximum functionality came next
and a contrasting granite top completed this bold but elegant look.
The homeowners’ need of a new contemporary look with high usage functionality
was complete.
