Description of Work
This
dated Northeast two (2) bedroom, two (2) bath ranch home lacked space, a Master
Bedroom and Master Bathroom as well as a formal front entry.
In order to fulfill these requirements an addition and
modifications to the front elevation of the home were necessary.
An addition housing the bedroom, bath, foyer and portico
front entry was designed with contemporary styling in mind. The lofted front
entry and foyer with 12’ ceilings provide a grand entrance to the existing home
and the adjacent bedroom and bathroom with 10’ ceilings and AC trusses to create
additional storage space above the entire addition.
It was
necessary to move the driveway and garage door location to accommodate the
addition, as well as add a new HVAC system for the addition. To accomplish
the needs of the homeowner, the design of the addition required us to extended
past the side corner of the original house. This provided an exit with
Colonial French doors to the side/rear yard as well as providing a view of the
water from the new Master Bedroom that was located in the front of the house.
Inside
this beautiful additional the interior includes lofted ceilings, tiled and
carpeted floorways, bold colors and fashionable fixtures and cabinetry combined
with a large sleeping area, and smooth clean lines created an eye popping modern
minimalist appearance created for luxurious living.
The shower built for two with matching shower fixtures
compliment the European maple vanities with granite tops, stainless pulls, and
glass vessel lavatory sinks. His and Hers closets and a separate toilet room
complete this beautiful add on to the home.
